October, 2001 - The Miami Hub is updating its
look! Watch for completion in the next few days. Also,
flights are being tested for Neuron Air VA's newest aircraft, the Airbus
A330. We expect to have coast-to-coast flights within the United
States with the additional aircraft very soon.
The
Battle Of The Airlines (http://www.planetaviation/virtualairlines/battle)
competition is underway at this time and Neuron Air has scored 21st
overall for the first week. It is a great adventure and I
encourage all hub pilots to download it and try it along with the
competing pilots.
29 August, 2001 - The Miami Hub Assignment Schedule has a new look. Every flight assignment for the hub is now listed and
available for Miami Hub pilots to fly on the days shown. Several other
schedule pages for each type of aircraft have been updated or added at this time as well.
Many of the pilots who have expressed an interest in fly for Neuron Air for the BOTA (Battle Of The Airlines) are now preparing
for the competition that begins 17 September. Miami Hub pilots expected to participate include Dave Willis, Cedric Kerr, Andrew
Charles Chic, Alexander Wennström, Stephen Wiest and Jesus Garcia Sabido. If any other pilots have an
interest...sign up at the NAET link to the left.
11 June, 2001 - Promotions have been earned by the following Miami Hub Pilots. Congratulations from Neuron Air!
First Officer Cedric Kerr (Neuron - 038) has advanced from Second Officer.
Second Officer Jesus Garcia Sabido (Neuron - 071) has advanced from Trainee.
Second Officer John Fafalios (Neuron - 054) has advanced from Trainee.
The Miami Hub is anticipating the end of the 'Open Flight Schedule' at the end of the current posted schedule. On 2 July, we
should have in place an assigned flight schedule for all pilots who fly for Neuron Air. Our CEO, Azuan Ahmad Zahdi, has
announced the automated PIREP and Flight Assignment System on the main news page of Neuron Air.
NOTE - This has been pushed back to an
undetermined date.
12 April, 2001 - Congratulations to the following Miami Hub pilots for receiving Neuron Air's 'Good Service Award' this past
weekend - David M. Light , Andrew Charles Chic and Cedric Kerr. Good job guys.
In other news, our hub has expanded its flights to include new domestic flights into Florida, North Carolina and Virginia. New
international flights include destinations in Canada, Martinique and Guadaloupe. I encourage everyone to try out a few of the new
destinations we have scheduled for these two weeks. If you want an extreme challenge, practice with a very small aircraft (such
as a Cessna 182 or a Piper Saratoga) at Juancho Yrausquin Airport on the island of Saba (Airport ID - saba). We will be initiating
charter service into there in the near future to shuttle students and staff to the new international medical school as well as scuba
divers who rate the area as one of the best diving destinations in the world. Not very many pilots have the skill to use this airport
so if you can succeed at this, you are one of the best. Good luck.
5 April, 2001 - Our first 2 weeks in operation at Miami went quite smoothly
considering the number of flights we initiated. We had only one major delay (due to a combination of weather conditions and nav radio failure) but did not effect any other flights as it was
the last flight of the day and repairs made during regular maintenance hours. Great job everyone!
19 March, 2001 - Neuron Air begins service today to the North American and Caribbean markets with flights originating from
Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida and from Luis Munoz Marin International in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A total of 140
flights may be expected in their first two weeks of operation said Hub Captain Dave Willis. "We have completed the transfer of 15
pilots from our Gatwick Terminal in London to North America as well as 5 Neuron Air aircraft for our move into this market". He
also indicated that 2 additional aircraft will be serving the region in the near future - one serving Florida and Bahamas and the other
connecting Florida to North Carolina and Virginia. Existing aircraft will make connections into Canada in the coming weeks as
well. He also noted a current pilot shortage may hinder expansion for the immediate future. "Currently, we have openings for at
least 5 more pilots to serve our current needs...beyond that we need at least 10 additional pilots for our planned growth in the very
near future." Dave said. He also noted that coast-to-coast flights will commence in the future as new aircraft are purchased and
additional pilots are hired. "The market is there...we just need the resources to serve it."
